The shimmer of the glossy lips
is casting a million sparkles in the bright lights
The darkness is applied to beautify the eyes
to add to the mysteriousness
Hair, is styled, washed, and filled with warmth
from appliances and chemicals until life is
restored for the days’ actions
Photographs preserve the youthfulness, in previous years
Capture the past and save them for the future
Holding memories for an eternity
Whether good or bad,
they remain still
An identity forever locked and held in a physical, material medium.
Only when the owners’ curiousity of
what memory the photo is attached to,
will the significance of time
be considered.
